Let everything happen to you: beauty and terror. Just keep going. No feeling is final. ~Go to the Limits of Your Longing from Book of Hours: Love Poems to God by Rainer Maria Rilke

Sobbing in a tiny, unclean airplane bathroom before takeoff seems like a new bottom for me. It’s f’ed up when I’m already fighting the idea of how I’ll be clawing at my face itching with the skin cancer salve versus wanting to literally lacerate the air of vitriol a woman is hurling at me with her disgusted remarks claiming that I wasn’t following the protocols of their onboarding system and to stay at my assigned seat. But, in the moment I was simply trying to tell her that I still needed to access the rear aircraft bathroom please (to apply my lotion). This was my sudden emotional hades when I was recently shamed by American Airlines gate and flight attendants on my final longer-leg airport connection. Peculiar with that latter word, since it appeared alien to this crew singling me out. Oddly, too, that this batch of individuals being plane awful, as compared to their sympathetic coworkers during my initial journey segments who’d listened well and for my security with my sense of self mattering.

The whole globe is a colossal collective of interactions. Professionals making poor assumptions will continually be ugly. That our world entitles any bits of this behavior sickens me. I’m exhausted with how seldom kindness is exuded. Why is compassion so difficult for most humans to offer? Many expect an exchange. As if amidst our inferior states, such anguish easily makes room for alms. Especially when relatively everybody on the planet has been through uncomfy stuff. Attuning our hearts is a daily exercise. I really mean it: WE DON’T ALWAYS KNOW WHAT’S GOING ON WITH EVERYONE WE EXPERIENCE. Allow that sentence to carefully sink all the way into you. As opposed to your egomaniacal lack of empathy. Evidently, this is a topic that we’re not talking about enough, as it callously thrives. So, as much grace as you can muster is of worthy thrust.

Or are we the prey? ~

Customer service 101 involves catering to people. Besides inherently intimating support. At its core is the ability to doggedly fly around crosswinds and among bumpy conditions with clemency and proficiency. Today, I’m waxing therapeutically for anyone who might appreciate this affectionate stabilization. My innate gentleness aims to reach those of you who’ve ever received public humiliation with no good explanation. Preparations often give the illusion of delivering more cake on the other end of things. Yet, I think it ought to be that if we submit decency then we’re zeroed in on ease with speed. Only, living isn’t a guarantee machine. The pep of positivity personality that we put in won’t consistently confirm us a rosy outcome. Without ignorance, weathering turbulence remains as unpredictable as smooth touchdowns. Where, for me, soaring sometimes comes from hovering at least ten thousand feet above our sores and then wringing it all out in writing.

We shouldn’t have to hang our happiness on a wing and a prayer approach. I take prideful ownership in navigating nasty passengers on ‘my’ Earthen routes. In addition to not ditching them at the nearest exit, namely minus a parachute (if you get my drift). Instead, I’ll pocket my few private (as in aviation) floats in hopes of leveling off with that future luxury. Regardless of your destination, it’s best to leave acrobatics out of your etiquette. If your attitude is profiling, disgruntled, or otherwise primed to poop on another’s vicinity, that’s a fine minute for your time out. While, if you’re looking for that grease it on prescriptive medicinal that won’t get you in trouble at work or with the law, and actually enhance your life, I recommend viewing Inside Out 2 (along with its predecessor if you missed the original gem). In order to glide greater upsides, I believe that benevolence is to endurance what barrel rolls are to aero jockeys ~ pure grandeur.

Color photo taken looking out the starboard (right) side of an airplane window, a number of rows behind the wing we can see in the top left of the image, amidst beautiful sunny daylight blue skies, high above the spotted white puffy clouds, with an easy view of the dark land a bit in the foreground, and above turqouise waters featured in the distance as a strip across the snapshot.
